About Chrisiane
Chrisiane is a Filipino artist and sustainability specialist with a background that spans environmental consultancy in the built environment, sustainable development policy, and community-led climate movement. Chrisiane’s creative practice is rooted in her work supporting frontline communities, researching impacts of just, equitable future-thinking policies, and reducing waste within cities - experience she’s gained through roles at organisations like the Office of the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales, Siargao Environmental Awareness Movement, Buro Happold and the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice.
Her art is a natural extension of this work. Using watercolour and acrylic, Chrisiane explores themes at the intersection of environmental care, social justice, and the vibrant traditions of her Filipino roots. Her paintings celebrate the beauty of the natural world, communities and the cultural narratives that shape our collective future. Inspired by native plants, regenerative landscapes, travels, and her experiences living and working across the Philippines, Austria, the UK, and Australia, her creative work invites reflection and connection on how we care for both people and the planet.
Chrisiane graduated with a BEng in Materials Science & Engineering from Loughborough University, England and a Master’s in Sustainable Development at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, where she earned a Dean’s List Award. She is currently calling Sydney, Australia home.
